For those of you who want to know why I’m RAGINGLY PISSSED?

This:

…two patrons complained that the library’s YA section included fiction and nonfiction books about gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender issues. The patrons accused the library of promoting “the overt indoctrination of the gay agenda in our community” and demanded that the library add books “affirming traditional heterosexual perspectives.” They also insisted that the library remove books from the YA section…

WTF?!

First, I hate the fact that people are still so bigotted. But what really effing galls me is that this was a PUBLIC library. As in, open to everyone. Therefore, why is it that a bunch of homophobics can dictate what can be available…to the public?

Why is it that it isn’t enough to have positive books about both heterosexuality AND homosexuality, but the books which might HELP people struggling with their sexuality…the ones which might make them not feel so alone and afraid…they have to be REMOVED.

It’s like they’re afraid heterosexuals only cling to their hetero-ness because they don’t know there’s anything else out there.

Gods this shit pisses me off.

Yeah, I’m one voice in about a million whining about the Amazon bullshit, which started with the “de listing” of GLBT books, and continued along de-listing anything with erotic content until even educational books were left out in the amazon cold.

And you know what? I’m so sick of people it isn’t funny.

I’m so tired of the “moral majority” which doesn’t represent any majority i’ve ever seen. most of the people I know are sitting on the “live and let live” wagon. So…who is this freaking majority? why have they got their panties in such a freaking twist?

Two people love each other.
HOW can that engender such hatred and rage?

And, on that note…how the heck is it that people have become so bloody erotophobic? It’s bad to talk about sex, to HAVE sex, to admit we LIKE sex. J-zeus, without it, we wouldn’t be here!

What’s wrong with people enjoying it? Why are we so terrified of people, especially WOMEN, realising that sex isn’t something we need to close our eyes and tolerate?

I don’t get it, but it makes me want to be a hermit.
